Restaurants on St. Croix

There are plenty of excellent casual restaurants on beautiful St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands, where you can relax and enjoy the laid back island vibe while feasting on some seriously delicious food. If you are looking for a tasty meal, here are some of the local favourites for casual dining on this island paradise:

The Beach Side Café

This chilled out restaurant is located right on the beachfront – hence the name. The atmosphere here is breezy and casual but the food is delicious and beautifully presented. You’ll find mouth-watering comfort food on the menu, such as the “Build Your Own Mac & Cheese” with options for lobster, shrimp or flank steak. Head here on a Saturday night for live local music.

The Blue Moon

The mood at this open air waterfront restaurant in Frederiksted is relaxed and friendly, making it a great place to meet old friends or make new ones. The Blue Moon specialises in Caribbean cuisine with a Cajun flair and there are also usually live jazz musicians featured here on various nights throughout the month.

Angry Nates Boathouse and Seafood Emporium

Don’t let the name fool you – the staff at this restaurant are far from angry and are actually quite chilled out and happy. This fun and laid back restaurant is located on the Christiansted boardwalk and serves the fresh catch of the day brought in by the local fishermen. Happy hour starts every day here at 4pm, so come on down and unwind!

You Are Here Bar and Grill

A welcoming and down to earth eatery, You are Here Bar and Grill serves some of the best pizza in the Caribbean as well as wraps, burgers, wings, fish tacos and calzones. The delicious Shrimp Corndawgs are winners of the “Best Entrée” prize in the Taste of St. Croix festival. With sports games playing on the large televisions and karaoke nights, this will become your favourite casual hangout on St. Croix.

Harvey’s is home to simple, honest, traditional Crucian food – served up by local matriarch Sarah Harvey. The décor isn’t fancy, but it doesn’t matter because you will be focused on the mouth-watering flavours of the food. A home cooked lunch here might include conch in butter sauce, goat stew, barbecue chicken and fresh tropical fruit juice. Get there early, it’s a very popular spot!
