Winter Events on St. Croix
The St. Croix tourist season hits its peak in the Northern Hemisphere’s winter months, when crowds of people arrive to trade their cold and snowy climates for the sun and sand of the US Virgin Islands. Temperatures will be warm during the day, but make sure that you bring a jacket for the “Christmas Winds” in the evenings.

St. Croix Carnival
December/January
The Crucian Christmas Carnival, which is also known as the Crucian Christmas Festival, has been an annual tradition since 1952. It is a colorful month-long celebration that highlights the island’s history, local crafts, food, drinks, and culture. Join in on the fun at the Queen and Princess pageants, watch the calypso competitions, and dance in the streets with thousands of people until the early hours of the morning.
Christmas Boat Parade
Second Saturday in December
Every year spectators line the Christiansted boardwalk for the Christmas Boat Parade, a family-friendly event that kicks off the annual Christmas Season. If you have a boat, you are welcome to decorate it and join in on the fun—they ask no fee to take part.
St. Croix Agriculture and Food Fair
February
During February, St. Croix plays host to the largest agricultural festival in the USVI. The Agricultural Fair features many great events including livestock shows, displays of locally grown produce, and arts and crafts booths. Dine on delicious native St. Croix cuisine and bring home unique homemade goods that are difficult to find at other times of the year. The fair takes place at the Rudolph Shulterbrandt Agricultural Complex.
